What if working out felt more like going out? If movement felt fun and was something you actually looked forward to?

BBF is different.

It’s 45 minutes of dance fitness set to big tunes, with low lights and zero expectations.

You’ll move, sweat, and feel like yourself again, without needing to “keep up” or perform.

No dance background? Doesn’t matter.
Haven’t worked out in a while? You’re not alone.
Just show up as you are, and move in a way that feels good.

All fitness levels welcome.

"I genuinely loved it all. I loved that I didn’t feel intimidated. Everyone was there for fun and fitness and it wasn’t pretentious at all. The dark made me feel more confident and the 4-5 steps made it easy to follow."
  • Is it for all ages?
BBF is designed for women aged 16+ and above (no age limit) who want to move without pressure. Whether you're 25 or 65, you’ll find the music, movement, and energy welcoming and fun. The reason we say 16+ is because some of the songs can be a little spicy and have some suggestive language 😆
  • What’s included in the term booking?
A guaranteed spot in your chosen class each week for the full term. No need to rebook or worry about missing out—it’s your time, locked in. You can book the term for the Thursday or the Sunday class (or both). The cost is calculated according to how many classes are run that term.
  • I’ve had an injury / I’m postnatal — can I join?
We recommend checking with your health professional first. If you're cleared for movement, you’re welcome to join and take it at your own pace. Just let us know privately before class if you need any support.
  • What’s your refund policy for casual classes?
If you cancel 24 hours or more before class, we’ll refund you. Cancellations made within 24 hours, or no-shows, aren’t eligible for a refund—unless you’re unwell or something unexpected comes up. If that happens, just email venessa@balancesandbeatsfitness.com and we’ll do our best to help.
  • What kind of music is it?
The playlist is a mix of throwback anthems and trending tracks—hip hop, R&B, dance, Afro, Latin remixes, and pop. High energy, low lights, and big fun. Think Missy Elliot, Beyonce, Lil Jon, Cardi B, Brittney..... the list goes on! And you can request your fave song to be added to the class playlist.
  • What should I bring?
Comfy clothes, trainers, a water bottle and a towel. That's all you need! You will sweat and move so make sure you feel comfortable and your clothes can keep you cool.
  • I’m nervous to come. What if I can’t keep up?
Totally get it—trying something new can feel intimidating. But BBF is the opposite of a high-pressure fitness class. The lights are low, the music is loud, and the moves are easy to follow. There’s no right or wrong—just good vibes and movement that feels good. You don’t need to be fit, coordinated, or know how to dance. You just need to show up. And if you want to stand at the back and vibe out the first time, that’s totally fine too.
  • Do I need dance or fitness experience?
Not at all. BBF is for everyone—whether you’ve danced before or not. The moves are simple, repeatable, and designed to make you feel good, not self-conscious. There are around 4-5 five steps per song and we repeat these throughout the song. They are easy to follow and you will get the hang of them in no time.
  • I’m unfit / just getting back into movement — will I be able to keep up?
Yes! Every class is designed with options—low and high impact—so you can choose your own pace. You’re welcome to take breaks, modify moves, or just keep it simple. No judgement here.
  • What happens if I can’t make a class during the term?
We don’t offer refunds for missed classes, but each term includes two flexibility credits. If you can’t make it one week, you can either book into another class that week (Thursday or Sunday), or use the credit toward your next term. Make-up spots are limited, so just email us to check availability and we’ll do our best to fit you in. We also don’t offer automatic refunds for full term bookings unless you’re unable to attend due to illness, injury, or personal circumstances beyond your control. If that’s the case, please contact us at venessa@balancesandbeatsfitness.com and we’ll work through it together.
  • Can I try a class before booking the term?
We offer limited trial spots if space allows. You can book this using our single class casual pass. Places are limited for these spots so book in quick if you want to try before you commit to the full term.
  • Is it high intensity?
It’s up to you. Every class includes low and high impact options— we do some jumping and running on the spot, but if this doesn't feel right for you, you take those jumps and higher impact options out and make them low impact. I will always give options for you to choose your own adventure, so you can move at your own pace. Whether you’re here for the sweat or the stress relief, you’ll leave feeling better than you came in.
